Industry’s first multi-protocol storage switch nominated for Product of the Year

Bracknell, UK – 18th June 2003 – Nishan Systems (www.NishanSystems.com), the world’s first supplier of native IP storage solutions, today announced that Networking Industry Awards 2003 has named the Nishan IPS3300 multi-protocol IP storage switch a finalist in the SAN Product of the Year category.

Nishan’s multi-protocol switches support iSCSI, iFCP and E-port for connecting to both new and existing IP systems as well as Fibre Channel architectures, providing customers with access to broad bandwidth, at high speed and low latency, for their storage traffic. Customers can implement economical high-performance remote storage area networks (SANs) by using familiar IP networking for storage traffic. Nishan's exclusive SAN Internetworking intelligence provides non-disruptive connectivity between storage devices and fabrics over virtually any distance.

“As the pioneer in IP storage area networks, we have introduced a number of industry firsts to accelerate adoption of IP SAN technology. This current nomination by one of the industry’s most respected awards validates our approach,” said Bjarne Poulsen, General Manager EMEA, Nishan Systems. “Storage requirements are increasing dramatically and our customers are looking for faster access to greater amounts of bandwidth. Nishan’s IP storage switch enables them to utilise maximum available IP network resources for storage applications.”

Networking Industry Award winners will be announced at a ceremony on the first day of Networks for Business 2003 show, 24th June 2003 at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, NEC Birmingham.
