Atlanta/London – June 25, 2003 – Intec Telecom Systems has won the mediation category of the Billing World Excellence Awards for the second consecutive year. Intec, winner of the 2003 Mediation Excellence Award for its Inter-mediatE™ system, is exhibiting this week at Billing World in Miami, Florida, June 24-26, where the winners were announced. Intec beat a number of other mediation vendors to the highly contested award, including Marconi, Narus, Openet Telecom, and Xacct.

The editorial staff for Billing World & OSS Today, a TeleStrategies publication, selected the finalists after a period of open nominations. Intec was selected as the winner based on analyst input and extensive research.

“This year’s competition was very tough, but Intec was able to prove that Inter-mediatE has the scalability and flexibility needed to be called number one,” says Jill Lucas Morgan, publisher and editorial director for Billing World & OSS Today. “Inter-mediatE is a proven, reliable system for any network: wireless, fixed and IP/next-generation – Intec’s customer testimonials outshone the competition.”

"Intec is honored that its convergent mediation platform, Inter-mediatE, has won this award for the second year in a row," says Fred Brott, vice-president of North American operations. "We have also used Billing World 2003 to launch our new Intec Dynamic Charging Platform, which allows wireless carriers to deliver advanced network services against pre-paid and post-paid billing models."

According to TeleStrategies, the mediation category “recognises mediation players that can effectively pull traffic information off the network with flexibility and extreme reliability, minimising revenue fallout.”
