Microsoft introduced the accreditation scheme in May 2003, following its acquisition of Great Plains and Navision to form Microsoft Business Solutions. To achieve certification Advantage employees had to undergo rigorous testing to demonstrate their knowledge in both the technical and application elements of Microsoft Great Plains.
