iWay Adapter Enables SAP to Address the Growing Retailer Demand for UCCnet Compliance

London, UK – July 29, 2003 – iWay Software, an Information Builders company that accelerates business integration and the world’s leading adapter vendor, today announced that SAP AG selected its certified UCCnet Adapter to provide UCCnet integration for the SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI), a key building block of the SAP NetWeaver integration and application platform.

SAP customers in manufacturing, retailing, and wholesaling markets will be able to securely exchange critical data with UCCnet, a neutral, tax-exempt organisation that provides item registry and data synchronisation for electronic commerce. The iWay UCCnet Adapter for SAP XI will also provide interconnectivity between various IT infrastructures and support multiple data types, communications protocols, and security mechanisms.

Under the terms of the agreement between SAP and iWay Software, SAP will provide the iWay UCCnet Adapter to its customers through its sales channel. Both companies will jointly provide 24/7 support using the SAP Service Marketplace (OSS) as the single entry point for customers. In addition, iWay Software will offer consulting services around the UCCnet adapter for use with SAP XI.

“SAP is pleased to team with iWay, bringing its cost-effective adapter to SAP customers and allowing them to synchronise data from a variety of standard and custom formats, including the UCCnet Global Registry,” said Klaus Kreplin, member of the SAP extended management board at SAP AG. “The adapter enables SAP to better address the growing retailer demand for UCCnet compliance. UCCnet will have a tremendous impact on the consumer-goods industry by enabling retailers to locate product and partner information regardless of where the manufacturer published its information.”

In the retail industry, the integration of item registration and data synchronisation based upon industry-defined standards is widely recognised as a key component to collaborative commerce. The iWay UCCnet Adapter for SAP XI furthers collaborative commerce by granting trading partners across the supply chain the ability to significantly and securely exchange product information and providing the availability to improve overall accuracy, efficiency, and bottom-line profits.

“Today many retail leaders are encouraging their partners to use a UCCnet solution for business transactions, and many of these partners operate on SAP solutions,” said John Senor, president of iWay Software. “These partners can now deliver more efficient retailing environments through our standards-compliant UCCnet adapter and can be more prepared as the consumer-goods industry moves toward total UCCnet compliance.”
