Driven by pressures under the new building regulations to improve the thermal performance of buildings, the sales of insulated folding sectional industrial doors just go up and up. Responding to this, industrial door motorisation specialist, Elero UK, have introduced the new ESDM motor range.

These heavy-duty motors all have pulling power, offering an impressive 80 to 120Nm torque. The entry level motor is a single phase unit with low level haul chain. Other models in the range are three phase and can come with or without built on starters, optional haul chains and units with de-clutch mechanisms. All motors are supplied complete with a torque plate and universal mounting.

Safety and protection are key features on the entire range. All have thermal cut outs. All the usual interlocks for manual use are provided. Photocell connections allow obstacle detection, and automatically stop and reverse the cycle. Units can be set for dead man operation so the user must apply continuous switch pressure and watch closure. An auto closure function that operates after 30 seconds can help users improve energy conservation and increase security, where there is a danger of infrequently used doors being left open.

Investing in modern motors ensures the reliable operation of industrial doors and will benefit productivity, increase safety and reduce energy costs. Whether fitted on new build, refurbishment projects or a part of plant maintenance, Elero can advise on the best motor for each application.
