RB Kingston has signed a contract with e-government solutions provider, Comino, for the supply and implementation of a solution to administer homelessness.

In Kingston, as across London, homelessness is a major problem. At present, the Council houses about 600 households in different types of temporary accommodation. The Council’s Homelessness Service has recently undergone an inspection by the Audit Commission. It was judged to be a “Good, two star service, with promising prospects for improvement” –amongst the best in London.

Trevor Whittaker explains “Choosing Comino was an important part of a continuing vision to provide quality services to our citizens”

Comino’s Homelessness module will replace the current paper based system. The solution provides the administration for homelessness and incorporates workflow and document management technology to automate housing advise, homelessness assessment and temporary accommodation processes. Key processes will be streamlined through the use of case management and process driven workflow.
