Azure, the telecoms revenue assurance company, today announced the appointment of Colin Verrall as VP global sales.

Colin has over 20 years software sales experience in the telecommunications sector. He will be responsible for further developing Azure’s sales operation and increasing its customer base worldwide.

Colin joins Azure from Portal Software where he has worked for the last five years, most recently as VP sales EMEA. He worked with the company from its initial entry into the European market, growing it significantly and helping establish Portal as one of the leading providers of customer care and billing. Colin has also worked for other software companies including Sybase, Silicon Graphics and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC).

Azure’s principal objective is to enable communications operators worldwide to reduce losses and safeguard profits from malicious and unintentional revenue leakage. It offers a range of revenue assurance products and services including; Interconnect Accounting, Fraud Management, Event Integrity, Mediation Management and Route Optimisation.

Azure is backed by the recently launched technology venturing partnership, NVP Brightstar, created in February this year. NVP Brightstar has been created by BT Brightstar, formerly part of BT’s research and technology business, BT Exact; Coller Capital, the UK-based global private equity investment manager; and New Venture Partners, the US-based venture capital firm.
