Advice Zone will be ‘unique opportunity’ to see new solutions in action

Chessington, October 13, 2003: More details have emerged of products and initiatives being launched at next week’s Storage Expo event.

Ideal, one of the key sponsors of Storage Expo event, will be hosting the Advice Zone, a forum where delegates can meet vendor, distributor and reseller storage experts, view presentations and see the latest technology.

“The Advice Zone is the only place to be this week for anyone wanting to know about the latest solutions to information management issues,” says Ian Lockhart, Head of Professional Services with Ideal. “Whether you’re an end user wanting to talk about consolidating your storage investment or a reseller looking for insights into what will be selling next year, Storage Expo represents a unique opportunity.”

Among the latest vendors to announce that they will be using the show as a springboard for key announcements are:

Certance, a world leader in cost-effective data protection solutions for companies of all sizes, has announced the launch of a strategic initiative designed to produce a new class of data protection products that cost-effectively simplify the process of safeguarding business-critical information of small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs), with an innovative platform based on technology from Intel. The Certance Data Protection Architecture (DPA) initiative’s goal is to deliver high-end data protection benefits to SMEs at a price they can afford. Previously, these benefits were only available to large-scale enterprises. Industry analysts indicate that the overall SMB storage market will increase at a 43% rate per year through 2006 to .5 billion. Today’s announcement reconfirms Certance, a Seagate affiliate, in its worldwide position as the leading independent provider of data protection solutions for the SMB market, and indicates a clear evolution beyond its traditional role
as a manufacturer of tape drives.
