London, UK – 14 October 2003 – Information Builders, the leader in enterprise business intelligence (BI) and real-time Web reporting, has announced five key management appointments to boost sales, partnerships and customer service within the UK.

Gary Bavistock joins Information Builders in November as sales director, responsible for overseeing all UK sales activity for Information Builders and its subsidiary company iWay Software. Gary has over 22 years commercial experience, with more than 15 years selling complex enterprise solutions in the UK, and nearly a decade in sales management. Gary spent a considerable time at Software AG culminating in being appointed their UK sales director. In this role he grew the business and improved profitability for Software AG in the UK. More recently he was the UK sales director for Smartlogik and then the UK country manager for Corechange - an enterprise portals supplier (recently acquired by OpenText).

Matthew (Matt) Galley joins Information Builders as professional services (PS) manager. Matt started off his career as an AS/400 Analyst/programmer and then moved on to project management. He spent a number of years as a consultant (AS/400 + ERP, EDI and e-commerce) before being appointed as the EMEA PS director for Harbinger who operate in the B2B, EDI and e-commerce space. He moved from Harbinger to Peregrine where he performed a number of EMEA PS management roles, and most recently he was the solutions director at Star Systems Group providing Data Synchronisation solutions to the UK FMCG vertical.

Richard Mortimer joins Information Builders as pre-sales manager, with a responsibility for coordinating all technical sales activity in the UK. His key focus will be to develop solution selling attributes in the technical teams and cement relationships with the professional services group. Richard started his career as a risk analyst at the London Stock Exchange before moving to Informix. He moved to become Data General's pre-sales manager for the UK (with a focus on BI and Data Warehousing projects) and then on to Kana where he was the EMEA pre-sales manager. Latterly he oversaw pre-sales for Red-M, a small technology company operating in the network monitoring and wireless networking markets.

Richard Mortimer takes over from Claire Denny who moves into sales as account manager with a particular focus on developing Information Builders’ exposure within the leisure industry, building on the company’s successes with organisations such as leading travel group TUI. Claire has been with Information Builders since 1994, when she joined as a training consultant. Since then she has naturally progressed into the sales role, moving from training to post-sales support, to pre-sales.

Sophie Trekels joins Information Builders as customer relationship manager, tasked with ensuring that customers receive a consistently high level of service throughout the course of their relationship with Information Builders. Sophie is an experienced customer relationship manager from her previous role at Dillistone Sytems Ltd, which specialises in databases for the headhunting industry. Sophie joined Dillistone Systems in 2000 as a trainer, and then moved into technical support and finally account management where she was responsible for visiting clients to ensure good service and customer satisfaction.

Information Builders’ UK managing director, Jim Irving said; “We are delighted to welcome Gary, Sophie, Matt and Richard to the Information Builders team, and to congratulate Claire on her move to sales. These appointments will strengthen our customer service offering, and help to ensure that not only are we providing the best solutions, but also the best possible ongoing support to our customers. Going forward, these appointments put us in a stronger position to boost UK sales and to expand our growing alliance programme.”
