Breakthrough software enables UK developers to build voice mail, IVR and conferencing servers without the need for voice processing hardware

The software enables developers, system integrators and end users to build voice mail, Interactive Voice Response, Conferencing and other media processing servers based on Intel architecture without the need for specialised voice processing boards.
When installed on a system, the Intel NetStructure Host Media Processing software looks like an Intel Dialogic(r) board with DM3 architecture to the customer application but all media processing takes place on the host processor. It can be implemented in a variety of media processing configurations.
This software-based approach helps developers, system integrators and end-users build flexible, scalable, and cost-effective next-generation Internet Protocol (IP) -based media servers while lowering the costs of developing, deploying and operating those servers.
The software supports computing platforms with Intel Celeron, Pentium III, Pentium 4 and Xeon processors with the ability to scale up to 120 concurrent sessions with a mix of voice, speech, T.38 fax and conferencing media processing resources per system - and with at least 50% of CPU and memory remaining for use by an application. The software is also compliant with the ITU H.323 specification for call control in an IP environment.
The Intel NetStructure Host Media Processing software architecture is inherently more flexible than hardware-based resources and the price/performance combination of the solutions built using it will constantly improve following Moore's Law*.
