IT services provider's office building used to draw attention of over 30,000 commuters to the issue of bullying in schools
1 December 2003 - Five light images publicising The Children's Society's annual Christmas fundraiser 'Christingle' and its theme 'Shine a Light on Bullying' were projected on to the side of the building housing the Steria offices on the M4 elevated section on the way out of London on the night of Friday 28th November.*
It is estimated that over 30,000** drivers travelling in and out of London between 4.30pm and 9.30pm on the elevated section of the M4 saw the projections light up the side of the office building in Brentford. The projection was the second of two; the first taking place at Southwark Cathedral on Monday 24th November.
A recent report by The Children's Society entitled 'Improving Behaviour' shows children still pinpoint bullying as a major issue at school. They want to be involved in writing the anti-bullying policies, and work with schools, governors and parents to eliminate the problem. Through events such as the Christingle services, which take place annually across the UK, children can get their voices heard.
John Torrie, CEO, Steria commented, "I'm really pleased that Steria could support The Children's Society in this year's campaign, and hope that the event brings the charity every success in getting this important message across."
