iAM:Storage interrogates devices such as SAN switches via SNMP, checking on their status, gathering and analysing SNMP traps, spotting broadcast problems and quickly helping to resolve issues before they impact on users.
The polling of the MIBs of key devices allows users to check conditions and performance parameters over time, producing graphical reports on key device performance indicators. iAM:Storage is managed and used via a standard web interface.
iAM:Storage includes the ability to monitor storage over IP (NAS), and all associated IP traffic, which could affect the overall performance of storage access and replication. In the case of NAS/SAN fusion this provides monitoring across both architectures within a combined solution.
