London, 23 January, 2004 - Brodeur Worldwide UK, the leading PR and
marketing communications consultancy for hi-tech and B2B, has accelerated
its growth strategy for 2004 by appointing Geoff Beattie as Business
Development Director. Geoff, 38, is responsible for planning, leading and
implementing business development activities for Brodeur, reporting to
chief executive officer Simon Ward.
A former television producer, Geoff was the co-founder of HBL Media, a
London-based communications consultancy. HBL grew rapidly from 1998 on the
back of a strong b2b technology and telecoms client base, including Nokia
Networks, Nokia Mobile Phones, Telstra Corporation, and the Star Technology
Brodeur UK's CEO Simon Ward said that Geoff's appointment signalled
Brodeur's intention to make 2004 a major year for growth, both in the
company's core areas of competence, and in the development of wider
corporate communications consultancy.
Simon said: "Brodeur intends to broaden its range of services to become a
more rounded corporate communications consultancy. We already provide many
of these services to clients; so the task is to make everyone aware of the
impressive accumulated expertise that exists within Brodeur locally and
internationally across the various communications disciplines."
One of Geoff's first initiatives in his new role is to set up a new
Broadcast Unit within Brodeur, to take advantage of the many and varied
ways that companies can communicate through broadband technology. Geoff was
one of the chief consultants on the creation of the London Stock Exchange's
City Media Centre, now debatably the most successful corporate broadcast
project in London.
Geoff said: "The level of expertise here is very high and there was no
hesitation in accepting this role at Brodeur. Our growth targets for 2004
are ambitious; I hope to play my part in achieving those."
