For an incredible 12th year running Centerprise International (www.centerprise.co.uk), the UK's largest custom-built PC manufacturer, has beaten off strong competition in one of the most rigorous selection processes in Government to successfully secure its place in the Defence Communication Services Agency's (DCSA) catalogue. This outstanding achievement means that Centerprise is the UK's longest-standing MoD-accredited PC manufacturer and further strengthens the relationship it has enjoyed with the defence sector since 1989.

The DCSA catalogue streamlines the procurement route for over 2,400 defence and Central Government purchasers by providing them with a select list of accredited suppliers and eliminating the need for individual project tenders.

Centerprise is one of just three companies to be selected under the Value Added Reseller (VAR) category of the DCSA catalogue. Accredited under notebook, desktop and server categories in previous years, the new-found VAR status will allow Centerprise to substantially expand its list of DCSA-approved products to incorporate PCs, laptops, servers, networks, printers and communication products. This status will also allow Centerprise to supply approved third party products for the very first time, alongside its established own-brand PCs, laptops and servers.

"This is a very important contract win for Centerprise", explains Richard White, Business Unit Manager, Public Sector Sales, Centerprise International. "Not only because the catalogue contributed a healthy £1.8m towards Centerprise's £7.3m total for defence business last year, but also because of the clear message it sends out to the entire public sector - that Centerprise offers the best price performance and solution currently available to UK public sector organisations. The fact that Centerprise International has been a constant fixture in the DCSA catalogue (or its predecessor) since 1991 is a fantastic achievement and is testament to our build quality, expertise in the sector and reflects well on our renowned customer service levels."

Centerprise International has enjoyed an enviable reputation in the defence sector since 1989, when the company got its 'big break' and won a tender to supply the security-conscious MoD with a unique solution - laptops featuring removable hard disks. "With our strong focus on customisation, the contract matched our strengths perfectly", explains Richard White, "and nearly 15 years later, we continue to supply defence purchasers with hardware that precisely meets their unique and varied needs."
