Who Called Solution Broadens Scope Of Information Made Available To Subscribers

WOODBURY, NY, February 9, 2004- Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world’s leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communications services, today announced that T-Mobile Deutschland GmbH has selected Comverse’s Who Called for deployment to its more than 25 million subscribers. Who Called notifies subscribers by SMS of calls that came in while the phone was unreachable.

The first thing many subscribers want to know after having been inaccessible (due to exhausted handset battery, after being out of range or after switching a phone back on) is: Who called? Comverse Who Called efficiently supplies the answer to that vital question (which handsets alone cannot do) as soon as the subscriber again becomes reachable, by sending an SMS notification with the phone numbers of those who had tried to call. Who Called efficiently aggregates multiple calls from a particular caller to a single Calling Line Indentification (with a counter), and reports CLIs from many callers on a single SMS notification.

Who Called exemplifies the classic ‘everyone wins’ scenario - subscribers are pleased to receive the cost-free information supplied by Who Called, and operators are rewarded by the new traffic generated by return calls.

T-Mobile stated that Who Called provides a real benefit to their subscribers and has a compelling business case. Comverse’s Who Called solution fully meets all of their requirements - including speedy deployment.

“With many recent sales, Who Called has been proving to be a star performer in the Comverse ImPact Call Completion product offering,” said Klaus Rohn, Managing Director, Comverse Germany. “ImPact Call Completion boosts ARPU with useful services that are desired and appreciated by customers - services based on existing infrastructure that quickly return the operators’ investment and then go on generating new revenue. We are gratified that T-Mobile Deutschland, the largest operator in the T-Mobile International group, has joined the growing group of operators benefiting from the Comverse Who Called service.”
