neo, the first brand dedicated to PMG, is born

The first neo PMG-enabled devices will be commercially available in March 2004

FEBRUARY 23, 2004, 3GSM CANNES: neo™ was launched by IXI today as the foremost brand for PMG® technology. neo is committed to introducing new, innovative mobile devices based on PMG technology, through a variety of manufacturers. neo will provide a one-stop-shop PMG solution to mobile operators and ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers).

neo provides a single source of PMG-enabled devices for mobile operators and a distribution and brand umbrella for manufacturers of PMG-enabled devices. neo offers an ‘a la carte’ menu of marketing and distribution services to support mobile operators and ODMs who launch PMG-based solutions.

PMG technology allows PMG Companion devices to be tailored to specific end-user activities, such as messaging, photos, gaming etc. PMG-enabled devices will be delivered more quickly to market than traditional ‘all-in-one’ phones or smart phones and give end users more choices over the applications they use. The devices will create additional data traffic and revenue for network operators and provide increased variety and a more targeted solution for end users.

The first neo collection of PMG-enabled devices, aimed at the mobile youth market, is being unveiled at 3GSM World Congress ‘04. The PMG phone and the two PMG Companion devices cover the most popular current wireless applications. neoFone NF-10 is an attractive mobile phone that provides PMG functionality. The two Companion devices provide messaging and photo services: neoChat NC-10 delivers email, SMS and IM and neoSnap NS-10 delivers digital photos. Using neoChat, a neo user will be able to stay in touch over Instant Messaging (IM) and email while mobile, and, using neoSnap, take pictures and have them automatically sent to a Web photo album.

“PMG® phones and PMG® Companion devices enhance operator ARPU and profitability by giving the user additional reasons to consume data services,” said Amit Haller, IXI’s President and CEO. “neo adds to the variety of affordable and easy to use PMG-enabled devices.”

These devices will become commercially available in March of this year in Italy and shortly after in other European countries, and in the USA in the second half of the year. DAI Telecom S.p.A. is among the first to distribute neo products in Italy. “We are excited to be able to offer neo devices to our customers,” said Uzi Katz, DAI Telecom S.p.A’s Chairman. “PMG-enabled devices provide consumers with an un-compromised mobile experience. DAI Telecom is proud to be a leading distributor of these innovative devices.”

Dai Telecom S.p.A. is the Italian subsidiary of Dai Telecom Group, a multi-national holding firm, with companies in Israel, Switzerland and Singapore.

Dai Telecom S.p.A. will provide a proven distribution network for neo and other PMG-based products leveraging distributors’ chains and channels as well as independent retailers. Dai Telecom S.p.A. will service neo customers with a state-of-the-art after sale and technical support capability, utilizing 2000 Point of Access (“POA”) in Italy and an in-house lab for high-level repairs.

neo is a fully owned subsidiary of IXI Mobile inc.

About PMG®

Personal Mobile Gateway technology (PMG®) combines cellular (e.g. GSM/GPRS, CDMA, etc.) and short distance wireless (e.g. Bluetooth or other technologies like WiFi), with micro-router and micro-server functionalities. It is the point of connection between the wireless network and the new category of affordable and best-of-breed mobile devices for consumers (PMG Companions). The PMG can be a stand-alone device the size of a small mint box, or integrated into a cellular phone.

The PMG enables a whole new set of innovative, optimized PMG Companion devices (e.g. watches, pens, phones, messaging terminals, gaming devices, cameras) that deliver a superior user experience, while still focused on fashion and budget. They cost less to manufacture, can be brought to market much faster than ordinary mobile phones or smartphones, and generate greater data usage. The PMG also seamlessly connects existing legacy terminals (e.g. PDAs, laptops) with no additional client software needed.
