Europe-wide deal demonstrates commitment to storage innovation

Chessington, 5 March 2004: Bell Microproducts Europe, trading in the UK as Ideal, has announced an agreement with Intransa to provide its iSCSI and IP SAN solutions across Europe.

Bell Microproducts will support the Intransa line with its team of solution architects. Intransa solutions will be enhanced by Bell Microproducts offerings of storage assessment, installation, maintenance services and other customer support programs.

Mark Walker, Enterprise Director, Ideal, said: "Engaging with Intransa aligns extremely well with our overall strategy of representing the top suppliers in a given technology. This strategy provides significant benefit to our customers.
This partnership also offers Intransa's existing customers the flexibility and
ease of doing business with Bell Microproducts on a global basis to implement
their IP5000 solutions."

"We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Bell Microproducts, a global leader in storage solutions and distribution,” said Dr Avi Katz, president and CEO
of Intransa. “We are also pleased that Bell Microproducts chose Intransa as part of their new IP SAN and iSCSI initiatives. This partnership accelerates our company's momentum with customers worldwide to provide the industry's most advanced, intelligent IP SAN to address customer business needs. We look forward to building a unique relationship with Bell Microproducts, its resellers and customers on an international scale to provide best in class products and services."

The importance of the emerging IP SAN and iSCSI market was stressed by Simon Gay, Consultancy Practice Leader with corporate reseller Computacenter: “This technology will open up networked storage for the mid market. There’s a whole load of mid-sized enterprises that have yet to deploy a SAN, and iSCSI will provide the opportunity. It’s been talked about for a long time, but now it’s got real support and products are emerging.”

Intransa's IP SAN provides a sophisticated software and hardware architecture that enables customers to easily consolidate, scale, and manage storage for high data volume applications such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server. Intransa’s IP SAN and iSCSI solutions facilitate the enterprise deployment of cost effective tiered and on-demand storage infrastructure, and can be key to applications such as backup, restore and other mission-critical data management and disaster recovery.
