LONDON, 11 March 2004: Bolingbroke Limited, UK distributor for WaveShield, has selected Entelegen to recruit and manage the team of sales agents that will promote its mobile phone radiation protection products into independent retailers. Entelegen, Europe's leading provider of outsourced sales and market acceleration solutions to technology companies will, through a network of retailers, introduce WaveShield to the 60% of the UK population that use a mobile phone.
Public interest in the health risks associated with mobile phone use is growing. In the past months the UK government has ordered teachers to ban pupils from using mobile phones amid rising health fears; and researchers at Lund University in Sweden have shown links between the microwave radiation emitted by GSM cell phones, as used widely in the UK, and brain damage in rats. This comes on top of many hundreds of reports suggesting links between mobile phone use and adverse affects such as headaches, dizziness and memory loss.
WaveShield has been certified by independent laboratories in the USA, Germany and Russia as offering up to a 97% reduction in radiation entering the ear, one of the most vulnerable areas and that most commonly reported in incidents of sickness associated with mobile phone use. The WaveShield itself is a discreet almost flat pad that attaches to the mobile handset over the ear piece. It is designed so as to not block any noise and is compatible with most leading phone models. The WaveShield filter neither obstructs phone use nor affects the performance of the handset.
"Not only is there growing evidence from both scientists and academics that mobile phone use can cause sickness, we know many people are actually feeling the side effects themselves through having to use their phones a lot for work, for example," says Nicholas St John, Managing Director of Bolingbroke and a former executive with BT, Kingston Communications and Npower Communications. "Our own research shows that even though few people feel they know enough about the risk of radiation absorbtion through mobile phone use, over 80% of users would purchase a product that may offer protection from radiation. Working with Entelegen, we aim to bring products to the High Street that give that peace of mind."
"WaveShield is the market leader in the USA and is easily the most credible product of this type in a fast growing market," says Ian Hendry, co-founder and director of Entelegen. "We look forward to seeing great success with Bolingbroke and will start our campaign with a team of first-class sales agents immediately."
