Azure, the telecoms revenue assurance company, will be hosting a pre-conference workshop on interconnection fraud at Telecoms Fraud 2004, taking place at the Strand Palace Hotel, London, on Tuesday 30 March 2004. The conference itself takes place at Le Meridien Waldorf, London from Wednesday 31 March, to Friday 2 April 2004.

Martin Browne, vice president of business development at Azure, and Dave Woods, director of fraud control services, will be co-hosting the workshop entitled “Detecting and Preventing Interconnection Fraud” from 9.00am. In addition Steve Strangeway, fraud solutions manager at BT Global Services Security, will be explaining how BT Global Services has managed to reduce its fraud losses to world-class levels.

The workshop will aim to identify different types of interconnection fraud and revenue leakage, and cover the technical strategies needed to detect and reduce losses. It will be based on a series of practical sessions covering the legal and regulatory issues, how to accurately measure interconnection fraud losses and how to develop and optimise fraud management strategies.

Azure’s principal objective is to enable communications operators worldwide to reduce losses and safeguard profits from malicious and unintentional revenue leakage.
