Upgrades maintain market leading functionality of award winning software license buying tool

Chessington, 16th March, 2004: Bell Microproducts Europe (trading in the UK as
Ideal) has again assured resellers of quicker, more accurate license sales as it continues to set the benchmark for online software licensing with a range of upgrades to its award winning License Desk on the Internet (LDi) online license tool.

The upgrades include:

* A license agreement wizard - enables resellers to manage customers' Microsoft OPEN agreements online. The wizard stores the agreement history and, uniquely, the stock keeping unit (SKU) detail ordered under the agreement.

* A language selector - user interface upgrade for Microsoft's key supported languages.

* Purchase Order duplicate check - checks for duplicate PO references.

* Full postal address generation based on customer postcode.

* Performance enhancements that make LDi quicker and easier to use.

Sarah Jane Sydenham, Purchasing Manager, Softcat, said: "Ldi is a fantastic tool and the latest upgrades will make it easier still for our sales staff to close and process software license deals."

Alex Tatham, vice president global software distribution, Bell Microproducts Europe, said: "Our customers want faster, easier low cost software licensing. This is what Bell Microproducts is committed to delivering. In the two years since Bell launched LDi it has helped Bell Microproducts become Microsoft's largest UK customer. By enhancing still further the services offered by LDi, we continue to raise the bar for software licensing excellence."

Bell Microproducts (Ideal) is now Microsoft's largest UK distribution partner just two years after moving into retail distribution for the software giant.

Ideal's success with Microsoft is based on the roll out of its LDi online tool into some of the UK's largest Microsoft resellers, propelling their Microsoft business in the biggest software explosion that the UK has seen for years.
