Cognito is a provider of mobile data solutions for businesses. This independent company provides a resilient, secure and scalable service for linking GPRS mobile units to office systems and each other. It coordinates and manages the wide range of services and products that make up a complete mobile data solution on behalf of its customers.
Cognito’s method of data transmission ensures that GPRS data volumes are low and it provides automatic fallback to GSM circuit-switched data operation to minimise communication downtime. It supplies all mobile units with a pre-installed, easy to use yet tamper-proof software application and provides management capability for all mobile units to be controlled and interrogated remotely while active in the field.
Founded in 1992 and based in Newbury, Berkshire, Cognito was the first company in the UK to be awarded a mobile data licence. The company has a proven track record of providing integrated solutions to international enterprises including Fuji, Konica Business Machines (UK) Ltd, Kraft Foods, Planned Maintenance Engineering, Tunstall and Vendepac.
