Some 5 million* Brits head overseas during the Easter break - many of them armed with travellers’ cheques they don’t really need.

With nearly all Switch cards now carrying the global Maestro symbol on the back or front of their cards, getting cash abroad couldn’t be easier.

Over 900,000 cash machines, seven million retailers worldwide** and 93 countries accept Maestro, giving around 24 million UK cardholders the chance to use the same convenient piece of plastic both at home and abroad.

Maestro also makes the hunt for Easter cash abroad easy with the excellent ATM locator found at

It’s easy to use and enables cardholders to search for Maestro-accepting cash machines worldwide, first by country, then by town. It also features a useful search facility for airport ATMs and offers hints and tips on safe cashpoint use.

In the UK, Switch and Maestro are looked after by S2 Card Services and CEO, Roger Alexander comments: "Cash machines are a safe and more convenient way of accessing local currency than queuing up at a bank or bureau de change.

"By bringing Maestro’s ATM locator to the attention of cardholders this Easter, we can help many more to take advantage of their Switch/Maestro card abroad, just like they do at home. All they need to do is look out for the Maestro logo on cash machines and in shops worldwide."
