London, April 30 2004 – Shorecliff Communications, organisers of the Telecom Video Europe event (www.scievents.com/telecomvideo) that takes place in Brussels, May 17-19, has announced that the three-day conference and exhibition will be attended by leading carriers across the region.

So far, representatives of operating companies including Belgacom, Telenor, France Telecom, Swisscom Fixnet, Telekom Austria, BT, Telefónica S.A and UTA Telekom AG have confirmed their attendance among others. The event has also received substantial endorsement from industry bodies and organisations including Eurescom (www.eurescom.de) The European Television Guild (www.inviewmedia.com) the Broadband Content Delivery Forum (www.bcdforum.org) and the MPEG Industry Forum (www.m4if.org).

Already hosted for the past three years in the United States, the forum offers an unbiased European platform for learning and debate to consider the technical, strategic and market implications of the imminent changes and emergence of triple play strategies, confronting telecom operators, suppliers and regulators.
Telecom Video Europe will be supported by a wealth of expertise from leading industry players including FastWeb, Alcatel, Skystream, mPhase, Allied Telesyn, NDS, ECI Telecom, Cisco, Lucent, TANDBERG Television, Net to Net Technologies, Siemens, Bitband, and Thomson, who are among the key contributors to the extensive 3-day programme.
“The involvement of leading carriers in the event reveals the level of interest and excitement being generated about the prospect of delivering a host of video services over broadband in Europe,” commented Carolyn Herr, Event Director, “In what is now an annual event in the region, operators will be able to milestone developments alongside key supplier organisations, and learn of the ever growing number of opportunities emerging in this space.”

As the second Telecom Video forum to take place in Europe, the event is scheduled to be a major gathering of businesses involved in the content delivery arena, and this year promises to be exceptional because of the sheer range and depth of expertise that will participate.

Delegates will also receive a complimentary mini-version of the new report from Screen Digest: IP-television: the emergence of a new TV platform in Europe.
