London – May 13, 2004 – Datawatch Corporation (NASDAQ: DWCH), a leading provider of report management, data transformation and service management solutions, today announced that its Datawatch Visual|QSM service management solution deployment at the BBC won this year’s Help Desk Support Excellence Award. The award was presented to the BBC IT team on April 28th at the 2004 HDI Conference during Helpdesk & IT Support Week in London. The Datawatch winning entry was singled out for achievement, service provided, and innovation among other prestigious entrants

Visual|QSM was first adopted by the BBC during an ambitious IT support process restructuring for BBC’s 11,000 IT users scattered throughout various London offices, beginning in 2001. By centralising support for a complex configuration of desktop, infrastructure, audio and visual systems, Datawatch and the BBC were able to reduce support costs, improve overall quality of service, and increase the efficiency and accuracy of IT staff efforts.
