Next-generation inter-network billing system to provide flexible rule-engine functionality

Azure (booth #88), the telecoms revenue assurance company, today launched the latest version of its interconnect accounting product at TeleManagement World 2004, taking place at the Acropolis Conference and Exposition Center, Nice 17 – 20 May 2004.

Azure Interconnect Version 8.0 is the latest version of the Azure INCA (inter-network call accounting) interconnect system and IXBS bureau, which allows operators to analyse call data, bill more accurately and to verify interconnect traffic between themselves and other network partners. It collects inter-business event detail records (EDRs) and can be applied across existing voice, data and mobile products, and will provide operators with greater flexibility when launching next-generation services.

Azure Interconnect Version 8.0 incorporates the rules-based rating capability Azure acquired recently from leading pricing and rating solutions provider, RateIntegration Inc.

Version 8.0’s new rules-based rating features offer many benefits to operators:
· enhanced rating support for next-generation business models
· improved visibility of the rating process
· improved time to market for new products/services
· reduced cost of change and increased productivity through the customer creation of rating rules.
· ‘what if’ analysis of new rating configurations

John Cronin, CEO of Azure, said: “Millions of network events pass between operators daily and need accounting for. Azure Interconnect Version 8.0 will ensure that operators can quickly adapt to new products, contract agreements and regulatory changes, so therefore ensure they receive all the money they are entitled to.”

Azure’s principal objective is to enable communications operators worldwide to reduce losses and safeguard profits from malicious and unintentional revenue leakage. It offers a range of revenue assurance products and services including; Interconnect Accounting, Fraud Management, Event Integrity, Mediation Management and Route Optimisation.
