Analyst report welcomes Orchestria’s electronic communications monitoring software as a boon to corporate compliance efforts in highly regulated industries

A new report from technology analyst firm Butler Group heralds Orchestria’s Active Policy Management (APM) software as a “strong weapon” for compliance officers in highly-regulated industries.

Orchestria’s APM software monitors employees’ electronic communications in real-time for non-compliant content, and prevents inappropriate emails, instant messages and other forms of electronic correspondence from ever being sent. It is described by Alan Rodger of Butler Group, the report’s author, as being able to “fulfil the most advanced requirements of organizations that are burdened by regulatory and legislative pressures that govern organizational communications.”

Compliance officers who replace manual monitoring processes with Orchestria’s APM are “likely to increase efficiency greatly,” according to the report, while the software’s “extremely effective compliance monitoring avoids the need to ‘slow down’ [electronic] communications for manual intervention and checking.”

Pete Malcolm, CEO and founder of Orchestria, believes the report should make interesting reading for stressed-out compliance staff. “The swathes of new regulation coming into industries like banking and healthcare are making compliance officers’ jobs a misery", he said. "Compliance staff find themselves running just to stand still, with the pressure to maintain compliance increasing daily. Butler Group's report shows that the burden can be greatly alleviated by the judicious implementation of sophisticated compliance automation technologies like Orchestria's."

Orchestria’s APM is currently extensively deployed among Wall Street banks to identify and suppress electronic communications that contravene regulations mandated by organizations such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the North American Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA), among others.
