Businesses in India are now able to increase efficiencies and reduce costs by taking advantage of EasyLink’s Fax to E-mail service

Mumbai, India– May 24, 2004 – EasyLink Services Corporation (NASDAQ: EASY), a leading global provider of services that power the exchange of information between enterprises, their trading communities and their customers, today announced the expansion of their Integrated Desktop suite of services in India to now support EasyLink’s Fax to E-Mail Service, giving them the ability to integrate fax and e-mail at the employee desktop.

This latest expansion was spurred by demand for an expanded desktop fax solution to include inbound faxing. The project was initiated by many of the company’s Indian customers; as they expand their businesses both nationally and globally, their business process capabilities must also be able to meet this growth.

With thousands of companies already using EasyLink to replace their costly fax machines and fax servers with its efficient and reliable outsourced Integrated Desktop Messaging solution, and the high demand from the Indian business marketplace for these services, EasyLink made the decision to further expand their presence in India.

The addition of Fax to E-mail will allow businesses in India to make their desktops the center of their business transactions. The service enables messages to be delivered directly to a PC even if the sender is using a fax machine. Businesses will see increased productivity, eliminate fax servers and machines, use less paper, and maintain an archived library of materials.

According to Timir Shah, Country Manager, EasyLink Services India, “This new wave of expansion focuses on the Indian market, because Indian businesses are striving to invest in internet-enabled solutions in an effort to automate and streamline their internal and external operations. By taking advantage of automated solutions such as our Integrated

Desktop Messaging, our customers are able to minimise paper, reduce costs, increase confidentiality and maximise their efficiency.”

According to Gartner, there has been a shift in attitude among Indian businesses including a willingness to reduce dependence on small local vendors for outsourcing business services and custom software development; and a preference for larger service providers that can offer end-to-end solutions for the entire range of technology and business process optimisation needs.

“Over the past two years, EasyLink has taken a strong position to expand our services globally; we recognised the tremendous potential entering the global marketplace presents for this type of service and other services offered by Easylink,” stated George Abi Zeid, EasyLink President, International Operations. “As businesses worldwide begin to expand their trading communities to include the global marketplace, EasyLink’s electronic transaction delivery services become vital to the transactions of business.”

EasyLink’s services are sold and supported internationally through direct sales offices as well as a strong partnership program. The Company serves over 20,000 customers in more than 110 countries through a highly focused global sales team. EasyLink has offices and partners strategically located throughout the world including the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
