* Company appoints long-time software executive, Gareth Robinson,
to lead SoftBrands EMEA

* Sales gather momentum in Americas, Europe and China; agreement with
SAP Business One shows early results and lean manufacturing
software sales continue to grow

Reading, Berkshire UK – June 2, 2004 – For immediate release: SoftBrands, a global
leader in next-generation enterprise software for midsize businesses in the
manufacturing and hospitality sectors, announced today the reorganization of its
Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) manufacturing and hospitality businesses to
pursue aggressive growth opportunities. Gareth Robinson has been appointed as the
general manager and vice president, SoftBrands EMEA. Robinson will oversee both
of the company's manufacturing and hospitality businesses, and will be responsible for
directing and accelerating business expansion in the EMEA regions.

"The EMEA regions are key growth areas for SoftBrands," said Randy Tofteland
president and chief operating officer, SoftBrands, Inc. "Our newly positioned business
in EMEA will better enable us to rapidly build up our powerful partnership with SAP
Business One and expand on sales of our leading lean automation product initiative,
Demand Stream. We also expect to
capitalise on increasing demand for our next-generation software solutions in the
hospitality market. Gareth will be a huge asset to the company going forward and will
continue to drive SoftBrands in becoming a major global market leader."

In the Americas, the significant partnership agreement with SAP, which integrates SAP
Business One with SoftBrands' leading product, Fourth Shift has resulted in early
sales momentum. In addition, SoftBrands' visionary decision in the mid-1990s to
develop Demand Stream, which supports lean manufacturing operations, is leading
the market. In 2004, Demand Stream has sold several new sites in America and

Robinson has joined SoftBrands at a pivotal point in the company's global progress
and growth. The EMEA region is performing in line with the company's fiscal 2004
plans and is structured to benefit from several important long-term corporate

Robinson's appointment brings more than 17 years of developing indirect sales
channels to companies such as IBM, Accenture, EDS, Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP
partners, Microsoft and Hewlett Packard. Robinson moved to SoftBrands from Unicru
Inc., the world's leading provider of total workforce acquisition solutions where he
successfully prepared the international business for acquisition and secured major
pan-European partnerships with Microsoft, IBM, HP and Accenture.

As managing director and vice president for Europe and Asia of NextVenue Inc., a
global provider of streaming media via broadband and wireless technology, he was
responsible for the company exceeding its first year's annual revenue by 230 percent.

"I was attracted by SoftBrands' leading-edge suite of products and its first-class
management team, coupled with the fact that SoftBrands is entering the third phase of
significant growth, and has just entered into an important relationship with SAP.
These factors are critical to making the company a success. As we continue to
develop and grow the company, I believe I
can drive and optimize these factors while substantially increasing the EMEA
business. SoftBrands has highly competent, experienced and ambitious employees
across the globe, and its products and development plans are in close harmony with
business trends, such as lean manufacturing and global support in the world's major
business regions including the Americas, China, India and EMEA. In short, the
company has all the ingredients to continue its leadership as a next-generation, world
class corporation," said Robinson.
