Panlogic launches virtual voodoo attack on Terry Henry to ensure victory this Sunday
Digital marketing consultancy Panlogic has built an online Va Va Voodoo Doll, available at http://www.panlogic.net/frog, to curse the Clio-driving, garlic-munching goal getter that is Thierry Henry. At this site the user may stick his/her pins into the (hopefully) ill-fated Henry to stop him from scoring this Sunday.
Says Oliver Christie, Panlogic’s creative director:” We built this Va Va Voodoo Doll to follow up from the success of the World Cup 2000 voodoo dolls we did for Batistuta and Ronaldo. These both worked a treat, because Batistuta had a shocker and was substituted and Ronaldo failed to score (about the only match he didn't score).”
Much cleaner and humane than raising the dead or killing a chicken in your own cul-de-sac, users accessing the site are greeted by a picture of Henry, accompanied by the following copy: “Cast your spell. Terry Henry – annoyingly good, Camembert munching, garlic-honking, froggy goal getter. He’s a bit useful. So we need you to curse the Clio-driving good before he can va-va voom our penalty area.”
Once in the site, users are invited to drag needles into the dirty frog’s body and hear his pain – and, man, does it feels good. Turn the volume up load to hear him scream, in that charming Gallic dialect of his: “Zis is worse zan your fisssh and chiiips”, and “Why don’t you steeeeck garlick up your derriere?”
Panlogic is a digital marketing agency concentrating on building online brands.
