BETTERPR
PRESS RELEASE

10 June 2004

IT GETS BETTER AND BETTER

A progressive South Midlands public relations consultancy is strengthening its top- level expertise with the appointment of Sophie Hunt.

Sophie has joined Bromsgrove based publicity specialist betterpr having spent nine years with two of the UK’s top five PR agencies, Burson-Marsteller and latterly Countrywide Porter Novelli, where she worked as a senior consultant.

A former runner-up in both PR Week’s Young Achiever of the Year award and the Institute of Public Relations Young Communicator of the Year award, Sophie, aged 32, will direct a wide range of client activity at betterpr.

She will also be instrumental in supporting the growth of the Grafton Lane consultancy.

Juliet Betterton, who set up betterpr eight years ago, said: “We provide our clients with only the highest level of expertise.

“The difference is we are very much hands on too, which means we have the grass roots knowledge to deliver results.

“Clients like our individual approach because they can depend on experts who are hard working, creative and above all passionate about their work.

“Sophie’s expertise will be a great asset to the range of marketing services we offer. Having advised household names on managing their reputations, we will be looking at developing new niche products.”

Previously, Sophie’s clients included Marks & Spencer, GlaxoSmithKlein, Lafarge Cement and The Women’s Royal Voluntary Service.

She was responsible for co-ordinating community relations at Bluewater, one of Europe’s largest shopping destinations, and she has carried out media training and crisis management for some of the UK’s biggest blue chip companies.

betterpr majors in media relations, crisis management, corporate social responsibility and business-to-business campaigns.

The consultancy’s client portfolio includes Black Country Investment, Gerald Eve, Bromsgrove School, Selbourne Homes, and Taylors of Martley.
