Actuate leverages EII technology that the company acquired through its acquisition of Nimble Technology to provide a breakthrough in Enterprise Reporting – the ability to deliver dynamic information to 100% of users, in the formats they expect – dashboards for executives and line managers, real-time web reports for customer service employees, spreadsheets for sales representatives and finance professionals, and personalised cubes for business analysts. Actuate 8 extends the data warehouse by providing users with on-demand access to information integrated from varied and disparate sources including ERP and CRM applications, data warehouses, legacy systems as well as XML and ODBC-based data sources.
Actuate 8 includes a unified metadata layer which improves the overall accuracy of information analysis and is accessible by all products within Actuate’s platform. Actuate 8 Key Features

EII Option – Actuate 8’s EII Option supports the real-time integration of disparate data sources. Operational visibility is dramatically improved by gathering information from disparate sources including ERP and CRM applications, data warehouses, legacy systems and other XML-based data sources, which is then blended simultaneously and presented on-demand to a broad set of users in their preferred format – dashboards, spreadsheets, web reports, personalised cubes, email or PDFs. Actuate 8 allows information within a data warehouse to be supplemented with real-time operational information in order to obtain up-to-the minute insights and comply more easily with federal regulations, such as Sarbanes-Oxley. Siloed information can be combined to present a single view of the customer – which gives organisations the intelligence to improve customer profitability. In addition, companies can present one corporate face to the customer through self-service reporting that integrates da

Unified Metadata Layer - Actuate 8 Information Objects present a sharable, reusable business-friendly data abstraction layer that allows IT to quickly create complex distributed queries that deliver operational information in real-time to all users across the enterprise. Users can then easily create, store and reuse queries against Information Objects as they write e.Reports, create e.Spreadsheets, or invoke Actuate Query.
e.Spreadsheet Designer Enhancements – Business users can now utilise the industry’s only server-based spreadsheet reporting solution to view budget variance reports and other summary analytic reports using Excel PivotTables and Data Filters. Actuate 8 supports the specifications of Excel PivotTables, Excel Data Filters and the creation of additional Excel Chart Types. Users can easily identify selection or exception criteria to answer questions such as who, what, when and where in the report. In addition, users can more easily spot problems and identify opportunities by utilising a larger number of Excel chart types, including 3D charts.
Adoption Monitoring - Actuate 8 includes new adoption monitoring capabilities that track usage of the system. These features will enable customers to monitor progress towards 100% user adoption of their Enterprise Reporting Applications and identify the reports and analyses that are most and least useful to users. These metrics will provide useful guidance on the enhancements necessary to increase the business impact of deployed Enterprise Reporting Applications.
