Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, today announced that BT Global Services, BT's international business services and solutions division, has awarded a significant contract to support the strategic roll out of its next generation ICT platform, BT Transform. The contract follows an initial commercial agreement between the two companies announced in September 2003.
BT Transform is the outsourced managed service and intelligent ICT architecture BT Global Services' enterprise customers, typically large multi-site organisations in finance and government. BT Transform provides a state-of-the-art business platform that translates ICT strategy into business value. By eliminating the lag time between business initiatives and business execution, BT Transform significantly accelerates business processes and time to market for new network services. Its integrated service management layer across all ICT components eliminates the problems associated with stovepipe architectures, multiple networks, and multiple supplier relationships, and simplifies administration across internal business departments.
"Using Intelliden's policy-based activation and configuration management down at the network level, we are able to support the creation and deployment of new services at the strategic business level with complete applications assurance," said Gordon Suttie, Vision and Strategy Manager for BT Transform. "Intelliden's intelligent, policy-based automation enables us to deliver a real time utility business architecture for our customers, while optimizing network resources, streamlining processes and enforcing business policy at the network operations level. We have not found any other activation or configuration management provider that offers us the same intelligent capabilities and depth of functionality as Intelliden."
The Intelliden R-Series(TM) solutions enable networks to operate more intelligently by dynamically responding to strategic goals and by automating network change management, optimizing network resources, streamlining processes and enforcing policy in network operations. Instead of having to make manual network changes - and risk making errors that could block critical communications - personnel can focus on more important network issues and operational efficiency is increased.
The latest contract with BT, which includes up to 80,000 devices, benchmarks both the commercial momentum and the financial success of Intelliden since it established operations in Europe in June 2002.
Ravi Pather, Vice President European Operations for Intelliden, commented, "Intelliden is rapidly growing its foothold in Europe, particularly in the Telecommunications, Enterprise and Government sectors. BT Transform has a 12-18 month competitive lead in the market place. We are delighted to be selected as one of the core strategic partners in BT Transform's technology ecosystem and look forward to working closely with the BT Transform team as it continues to develop and enhance its next generation ICT platform."
