Completely Rebuilt Using .NET Framework,
MDP7 is the First ETL Solution to Publish Reports to RSS

Datawatch Corporation, a leading provider of report management, data transformation and service management solutions, announces the release of Monarch Data Pump Version 7 (MDP7).

Monarch Data Pump V7 is an exciting new server-based report and data mining, extraction, transformation and distribution system. MDP7 delivers the compelling benefits of a Data Extraction (ETL) Tool plus a Report & Data Distribution system, combined in one powerful solution.

MDP7 utilises Datawatch’s Monarch “Report Mining” engine, the de facto standard in mining and transforming data buried within existing report output files. Completely rebuilt using Microsoft’s .NET framework, MDP7 mines and transforms the data within existing reports, alone or in combination with data from other sources, on a scheduled, fully automated basis, to create and deliver new customised data views matching end user needs.
The customised data views created by MDP7 can then be uploaded to databases such as SQL Server, and saved as Excel spreadsheets and templates, Access files, etc. Reports and files can be delivered via RSS (Really Simple Syndication) news feeds, e-mail, and to a file folder.

MDP7 automatically creates and delivers customised enterprise data, derived from reports and/or other disparate data sources, with exceptional performance and without programming.

“Virtually every other data extraction tool and enterprise reporting solution typically relies on ‘raw’ data within production databases as a primary data source,” said Robert Graham, Datawatch Products Manager. “In contrast, Monarch Data Pump Version 7 leverages existing operational and accounting reports as a new source of live data. In fact, it is typically these same reports that are relied upon to fulfill auditing and compliance requirements”. MDP7 transforms these trusted, audited reports into live data sets, as well as data residing in databases, spreadsheets and other sources, in any combination, to create customised data for a host of data integration and information delivery activities

Monarch Data Pump V7 features:

• Automatic transformation of existing reports, alone or in combination with data from other sources, into a variety of formats including xls, mdb, and csv without programming.
• Enhanced data transformations (filter, sort, summary, calculated fields, data lookups, etc.).
• Powerful data distribution capabilities including RSS data feeds, OLE DB/ODBC data upload, network, FTP, http WebDAV, or email (with or without data file attachment).
• Dramatically faster upload of data to databases using OLE DB (50%-100% faster upload to SQL Server than previous versions).
• Automatic creation of new tables using OLE DB data sources (plus naming macros).
• Powerful task scheduling and job logging capabilities.
• Automatic alerts via e-mail, RSS and Windows Event Log.
• Full support for scripting using VB.NET.

Finally, as MDP7 is based on the open Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, it provides for faster enterprise deployment and more complete integration with SQL Server, IIS (Internet Information Server), Exchange and other Microsoft solutions.

Pricing and requirements:

Monarch Data Pump V7 requires Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP1 or Windows 2003 Server, and .NET Framework V1.1. Price is £4,500. An additional 2 cpu’s is £1,250.
