Team to capitalise on the success of partnerships and growth opportunities
SafeNet (NASDAQ: SFNT), setting the standard for information security, today announced the creation of an OEM/Networking business unit and appointed Henk Pruim as vice president and general manager.
The OEM/Networking business unit will remain part of SafeNet’s Embedded Security Division, reporting to David Potts, senior vice president and general manager. Modeled after the recently created SafeNet’s Rights Management business unit, this new business unit will focus on SafeNet chips, Intellectual Property and software toolkits to the networking markets. The team will be responsible for all key sales, marketing, development, and customer support functions.

Pruim was president of SafeNet’s Netherlands office, overseeing development of the company’s integrated circuits and intellectual property (IP). Previously he was the president of Securealink, which was acquired by SafeNet in 2002. Pruim has over 26 years of experience in IC design/management and 12 years of experience in cryptographic IC design. He started his career at Philips Semiconductors, first in the CMOS department and thereafter in the bipolar group. Pruim left Philips and joined ICN, a Dutch IC design company. In 1986, he joined Pijnenburg, where he began chip design activities.
SafeNet’s OEM business is a market leader in providing hardware, software and IP solutions for the networking and wireless segments. SafeNet’s OEM customers include Cisco, Microsoft, Juniper, Nortel and NetGear.
