Motorsport fans will be able to find out what makes a top racing driver tick when they can quiz touring car ace Jason Plato in a live webchat next week (Thursday, September 16, between 5pm and 6pm).

Fans of the Monaco-based driver can put their questions to Plato as he prepares for the season’s climax at Donington Park circuit in East Midlands on September 26. The SEAT driver has underlined his ability by taking more wins this year than anyone else in the Green Flag BTCC.

Green Flag, sponsor of the British Touring Car Championship, will host the webchat online at their website. To submit questions before the webchat email:

“It’s great to have one of the country’s leading racing drivers join us to take the online hot seat,” said Green Flag sponsorship manager, Nick Page. “The live webchat provides a unique opportunity for fans to gain an insight in to the life of a top racing driver.”

Page added: “Jason is one of the best known racing drivers in the championship, so there’s plenty to ask him about, and with the championship title on a knife-edge, why not join us to find out what winning means to him, what he thinks of the competition and his hopes are as he goes into the final race of the season.”

Plato’s return to the BTCC was recently voted by fans as one of the best things to have happened to the championship this year.

Hi-res images of Jason Plato are available from the Green Flag press office: 0113 399 1427/1387.

About Jason Plato

Date of Birth: 14/10/1967
Nationality: British

Jason Plato returns after a two-year absence to lead the SEAT team into battle alongside reigning SEAT Cupra Championship winner Rob Huff, in the Spanish manufacturers first season in the BTCC. A charismatic personality with a will-to-win, so it was no surprise there were sparks flying when Plato lined up against his old adversary (and former teammate) Yvan Muller.

Since taking the title in 2001, Plato has forged a career in TV, providing expert opinion on ITV’s Racing Rivals and C4’s Driven. Currently, Plato features as roving reporter on ITV1's Speed Sunday programme.
