LONDON, Sept. 15, 2004 -- Interactive Intelligence Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ), a global developer of business communications software, has appointed Richard Brown to head up Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations, as the company’s vice president of sales, EMEA.
In this role, Brown will be responsible for driving rapid revenue growth to expand market share within Europe. He will lead continued development of Interactive Intelligence’s EMEA channel, now composed of about 37 value-added resellers specialising in contact centre automation, IP telephony, unified messaging and customer self-service.
Brown has more than 17 years of communications and information technology industry experience. Most recently he held an advisory role with Red Electron, a specialist channel consultancy that he co-founded. Prior to that, he was Apropos Technology’s vice president of international operations, where he built its EMEA and Asia Pacific operations from scratch, and contributed to a successful IPO in early 2000.
In his previous role at Aspect Communications, Brown progressed to the role of director of international marketing. His early career was spent in sales roles at telecommunications company Mitel Networks, and other high-tech firms.
“Throughout his career, Richard has demonstrated an ability to achieve, and a passion for excellence,” said Interactive Intelligence president and chief executive officer, Dr. Donald E. Brown. “His in-depth knowledge of the interaction management and contact centre markets, international experience, and channel marketing expertise, combined with his demonstrated sales success make him a terrific addition to the Interactive Intelligence team.”
“Interactive Intelligence has some of the most sophisticated, yet easy to use, business communications and telephony technology that I have seen,” Richard Brown said. “Interactive Intelligence already leads the market in all-software IP telephony, is well within the top 10 for unified messaging in most European markets and has a well established reputation in contact centres. I see huge potential here. From a strong foundation, I look forward to leading Interactive Intelligence EMEA to even greater success.”
Brown assumes his role as general manager for EMEA operations immediately. He will work from Interactive Intelligence's EMEA headquarters located in London, reporting to Gary Blough, Interactive Intelligence's executive vice president of worldwide sales, and the company's former vice president of sales for EMEA.
