London, UK, (21st September 2004) – Callserve Communications, Europe’s largest VoIP services provider announces that Freeserve co-founder, Ajaz Ahmed, has taken the helm as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He is joined by fellow Freeserve co-founder Robert Wilmot in the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With Callserve, the UK-based entrepreneurs have set their sights on revolutionising the telephony market.

Ahmed commented: “Since leaving Freeserve in 2001, we have been looking for the next “big” opportunity and there is no question that VoIP is it. VoIP is a revolutionary technology that is going to transform communications in the same way that the Internet changed commerce in the late 90s. Callserve has been pioneering VoIP services since 1999, well ahead of any of the industry newcomers recently profiled in the media. We know that Callserve Communications is the right company, in the right industry, at the right time, and we have some exciting plans to shake up the way people access telecoms services worldwide.”

Wilmot adds: “Callserve is well funded and profitable, with ready access to additional capital if required to help bring our innovations to market quickly. At the same time, the company has credibility, experience and success, and a formidable technical team with unprecedented VoIP services experience. Expect big things from Callserve.”

The company has two brands under the Callserve Communications umbrella – Callserve and Phoneserve. Callserve was one of the first PC-to-Phone services worldwide, while Phoneserve is a pre-paid calling card service that is the industry leader throughout the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe.
