LEXINGTON, Mass. (September 30, 2004) – Centra (NASDAQ: CTRA), a leading provider of specialized solutions, delivering software and services for online business collaboration, today announced a key addition to its executive leadership team. Martin Deise has joined the Company as senior vice president of Professional Services, effective October 1. Reporting directly to Centra’s president and CEO, Paul R. Gudonis, Deise will provide leadership and strategic direction in the development of a strong services portfolio for Centra’s professional consulting organization and education and training services.

Deise brings more than 20 years of experience in management and technology consulting, leading global organizations to improve business performance. He has a strong background in business strategy, process improvement, information technology and software solutions, and change management across multiple industries. Deise is an authority on applying net-based solutions to help companies enhance revenue, reduce costs and improve customer service.

Prior to joining Centra, Deise was a partner at Alexander Consulting Group, a professional services firm specializing in the planning, design and implementation of performance improvement programs. Previously, Deise served as senior vice president of Business Solutions and Services at Novell, where he played a pivotal role in transforming Novell from a $1 billion software products company to a leading provider of business solutions.

Prior to Novell, he was senior vice president of Strategy and Solutions at Cambridge Technology Partners, where he led the transformation of consulting services to a solutions-based organization. Deise also served in several leadership roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting for 10 years. In his most recent position as global e-business program director, Deise co-founded PwC’s industry-leading e-business practice and led the development of PwC’s e-business services capabilities, which quickly grew into a $100 million-plus business and became an integral part of most client projects.

Deise holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and Operations Management from the University of Maryland. He co-authored the best selling e-business book “Executive Guide to E-Business: From Tactics to Strategy” and has been recognized by MeansBusiness as one of today’s top business experts.

Deise will replace the former senior vice president of Professional Services, Joe Gruttadauria, who left
the Company in August.
