SpinVox can save most businesses £150,000 per year by converting voicemails to text

LONDON, 12 October 2004 – SpinVox launches today, the world’s first voicemail to text service, making life easier and more productive for busy people on the move. Using push technology, SpinVox automatically converts voicemail messages into texts, sending them instantly and discretely to a user’s mobile phone.

Christina Domecq, CEO and SpinVox co-founder says: “We developed SpinVox in response to a need for simple, fast, hassle-free voicemail. As busy professionals, frequently away from our desks, we received a lot of voicemails. We would typically walk out of a meeting, turn our phones on and be inundated with a large number of voicemail notifications. We would then go through the laborious task of listening to each message and became frustrated because we had to replay and listen to our messages several times just to get important details. Because voicemail controls are complex this became irritating and time consuming. SpinVox eliminates the need to dial-in for messages, deal with the various prompts and fumble for pen and paper to write down key information.

“In one push, SpinVox converts your voicemail messages into text and delivers them directly to your handset. Now, you can instantly see your voicemail on your phone’s screen and choose how and when you respond to them.”

A recent YouGov survey commissioned by SpinVox shows that up to 85 per cent1 of respondents need to listen to their messages more than once in order to get the key details from their messages. Also, 45 per cent2 of mobile users cited that listening to voicemail was difficult due to background noise, complex playback controls and having to do too many things at once.

According to Domecq, this is significant when considering that an average business person spends 10-15 minutes per day listening to their voicemail, or 3-5 hours per month. The average cost to a business in lost productivity can be quite startling. Using these statistics a company of 100 employees can save £150,000 in one year by using SpinVox.

Leading companies have been using SpinVox on a trial basis and have seen the benefits in the way SpinVox transforms the way they do business.

John MacMillan, Criminal Solicitor with WMB Law said, "I am a criminal lawyer and have been using the SpinVox voicemail to text service for just over four days. It has been a phenomenal help to me whilst in court, converting my voicemails to text, allowing me to read those messages which I would not otherwise be able to access until after the court hearing. My company will be provisioning the lawyers within the practice."

Naomi Higgins, PeopleSoft’s Analyst Relations Manager – EMEA, says: “Recently at a customer conference, one of the busiest times of the year for PeopleSoft, I found SpinVox invaluable and far easier to use than traditional voicemail. I was receiving more than a dozen voicemails each day whilst attending back-to-back meetings that would have been unmanageable through normal voicemail retrieval. With SpinVox, I was able to review them quickly and easily and decide how best to handle them without having to excuse myself from vital meetings to deal with important voicemail messages. SpinVox made best use of my valuable time.”

SpinVox is inviting you to experience first hand through a one week free trial how easy it is to use and how SpinVox will improve your productivity.
