13th October 2004 - Chiltern District Council, an ‘excellent‘ local authority according to a recent Audit Commission report, is achieving e-government objectives with help from Version One’s document management technology, integrated into existing Sun Accounts software.

“We chose Version One’s software because it offers the best possible document management solution and it can easily be integrated into our Sun accounting system,” said Alison Howes, Head of Financial Services at Chiltern D.C. “We now have a fully integrated network-based solution, which will be used throughout the whole organisation.”

This new system will initially be used by Financial Services for e-document delivery to customers and suppliers, with a planned roll-out to the Council’s Service Departments (for use with purchase orders and many other documents). The Version One software also allows the easy re-design of all accounting documents, enabling the Council to project a far more professional image

“We’re also moving to Version One’s laser cheque printing software, which will significantly improve our cheque security,” Alison Howes continued. “We’re excited by the business benefits from this new software, which will include immediate, real savings throughout the whole Finance department, improved services for our customers, the speeding up of our general processes and the freeing up of staff resources, which can be used effectively for other projects.”

One of the Council’s key objectives is ‘Pursuing Effectiveness and Efficiency in all we do’ and Alison Howes sees this partnership with Version One as being crucial in helping Chiltern District Council achieve this. .
