- Jakob Nielsen, Nielsen Norman Group – ‘Web Usability Guidelines Revisited’
Jakob Nielsen, “the guru of Web page usability” according to The New York Times, will look at how the past ten years have affected Web usability guidelines, and will home in on how people use the web today and the design mistakes that cause them problems.

Personas represent an individual – or a set of individuals – that embodies characteristics of a target user population. Microsoft’s Pruitt and’s Adlin, both highly-skilled usability professionals, will demonstrate proven persona techniques that can be applied to create, use, maintain and retire personas, as well how to engage your organisation in the persona process.

Teens spend more time now on the Web than ever before but little is known about this interesting group of Web users. Loranger, NN/g’s resident user experience specialist, will reveal just what influences their user experience, and which design elements attract them and those that put them off.

- Christian Rohrer and John Boyd, Yahoo! – ‘Ads That Work on the Web’
Yahoo’s! user experience specialists, Rohrer and Boyd, will give you the low-down on how to strike the all important balance between keeping users happy and selling ad space. As well as looking at graphic versus text ads, they will demonstrate how to ensure ad relevance and will predict what’s ahead for online advertising.
