For Immediate Release _______________________________________________________________________________

LONDON, October 20, 2004 — D-Link the leading global manufacturer of broadband, wireless and networking solutions to the SOHO, SMB and Enterprise environments today announced the launch of the DCS-5300G, its most powerful Internet camera to date. Designed to maximise disk space by only recording when its motion detection sensor is activated, the DCS-5300G reduces the need to be physically present on-site by streaming live video and audio out over the Internet to a designated computer. The camera also uses an 802.11g wireless interface providing optimum data rates of up to 54Mbps and an operating range of up to 100m indoors, and 400m outdoors.

“The traditional view of the office-based night watchman monitoring a bank of CCTV images is no more. The increasing prevalence of wireless technology now allows security applications and equipment to be administered and controlled remotely from anywhere in the world,” said Tahira Perveen, Country Sales Manager, D-Link UK and Ireland. “One of the key features of the DCS-5300G is its ability to capture images via motion detection. These images can then be automatically e-mailed to a specified recipient providing up to the minute alerts direct from the secured location.”

The DCS-5300G is equipped with a 10/100 BASE-TX Ethernet port for simple connection to an Ethernet network or to a Broadband Internet via a home gateway router. The camera also comes with a built in 4x digital zoom for close up viewing, and a pan and tilt function, all of which can be controlled remotely via the easy to use web-interface.

Ideal for multi-camera environments, the DCS-5300G comes with ready installed software that allows up to 16 cameras to be connected and viewed simultaneously on a single computer screen. The cameras can be connected to external devices such as alarms and sensors, providing the complete security set-up.
