Azure, the revenue assurance and management company, will be a participating sponsor and hosting two sessions at the Third Annual Combating Telecom Fraud in Asia Summit, the principle Asian telecoms fraud conference, taking place at the Hong Kong Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Hong Kong, between Wednesday 3 November and Friday 5 November 2004.

Jason Lane-Sellers, fraud product marketing manager at Azure, will be hosting a session at the summit on Wednesday 3 November at 3.55pm entitled: “Prevention is better than cure – How to establish an effective fraud risk assessment process?” In the session, Jason will stress the importance of creating a fraud prevention culture, identify the current and future fraud risks, as well as introduce methods in dealing with fraud.

In a second session, Jason will be co-hosting a post-conference workshop with Vincent Barry, Azure’s Asian region director. The workshop, entitled: “IP and content, what are the fraud risks and how do you control the problem?” will take place on Friday 5 November at 8.45am. In this workshop, Jason and Vincent will provide an overview of how the move to IP will affect telecoms companies and increase the potential risks of fraud. The workshop will also address how telcos can utilise their existing expertise and systems to help them prepare for the risks involved.

Research in 2003 from leading telecoms analysts, Analysys, estimated that operator revenue leakage was 13.7 per cent of turnover. Azure has re-commissioned this survey and will presenting the latest results at the two sessions and every attendee will be entitled to a free copy of the research.
