Aspect Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: ASPT), a leading provider of enterprise customer contact solutions, has named William Adkins as its new senior vice president of worldwide support sales. Adkins will be responsible for directing the sales of Aspect's support offerings and driving tighter integration between Aspect's sales and customer support organisations.

A senior executive with more than 20 years of sales and sales support management experience, Adkins brings a wealth of knowledge to Aspect. Adkins has a history of leading teams that foster strong customer relationships and surpass sales targets.

He most recently served as a senior vice president for Rockwell FirstPoint Contact where his responsibilities included global sales, marketing, product marketing, field service, training and field operations. Prior to Rockwell, Adkins held management positions at companies including Avantgo Inc., Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Motorola Worldwide Alliances and Tandem Computers Inc.

Earlier in his career, Adkins also held management positions with Wang Laboratories, the City of Elgin, Illinois, and Merchants National Bank. He has a bachelor's degree in computer science with a concentration in finance and business administration from Northern Illinois University.
