Solihull-based Infrasys Ltd has joined forces with leading US network storage player EqualLogic to become the first company to market its iSCSI storage solutions in the UK.

The new PeerStorage 100E Array, which recently won a Computerworld Annual Innovation Technology Award, significantly reduces the cost and complexity of Storages Area Networks (SANs).

Says Infrasys Sales Manager Kerry Sims: “We researched the market for six months and found the technology offered by EqualLogic to be extraordinary in terms of cost, efficiency and ease of deployment.”

“It’s not often that you see the words ‘low cost’ and ‘functionality’ in the same sentence when describing storage solutions,” says Sims.

“But these are features offered by EqualLogic; all the benefits of large scale SANs, at a fraction of the cost.”

The combination of iSCSI technology and a complete bundled software package that suits most functions means the EqualLogic can reduce typical SAN storage costs by up to 60%.

“We are talking about a self-managing, self-scaling, self-healing SAN solution that offers a 99.999% available, high performance system, for less than the annual maintenance of other systems,” says Sims.

The high cost of buying and running traditional fibre-channel SANs often limits their use to mission critical areas only.

“Other areas of an organisation often miss out on the benefits because of the high costs usually involved.”

PeerStorage Arrays’ solve this problem by providing built-in management functionality that releases administration time.

“We use the existing Ethernet IP networks and don’t require any propriety host software or specialised network switches – and make the best use of current staff network expertise,” says Sims.

“Customers can go from ‘Box to SAN’ in just 20 minutes with a system that automatically scales from 1TB to 150 TBs – and that is a fully functional system offering automatic provisioning, 10,000 snapshots and remote data replication.”

And if this all sounds too good to be true, Infrasys invites potential users to try out the product by logging on to for a quick product test that will take just 20 minutes.

Infrasys is a Midlands-based IT integration and services company that reduces the cost and complexity of IT for its clients, including Jaguar, Land Rover, MG-Rover, BAe Systems and Jaguar F1.
