(Nasdaq: BVSN), a global provider of self-service web applications, today announced that Toyota (GB) Plc ( is using a BroadVision solution that includes BroadVision Commerce as the platform for its entire web-based services for Fleet buyers and individual customers as well as for the motorists’ portal,

BroadVision was chosen by Toyota after being recommended by IS Solutions (, an Internet design, development and support company used by Toyota to implement its online strategy. BroadVision was selected for its self-service application functionality for staff and Fleet buyers as well as for the flexibility, scalability and reliability of the platform that enables it to be used across multiple applications., the motoring portal, run in conjunction with IS Solutions, was launched to enable Toyota to provide free-to-use value-added services to both customers and the general public. This has increased awareness of the company with existing and potential customers, as well as providing a valuable information and travel planning service to the motoring public.

The Fleet extranet has innovative personalisation features that allow Toyota’s account managers to provide tailored information to customer organisations; this enables customer employees to benefit from specific information on car models available to them, dependent on their job level and entitlement, when they log on to the site. It also allows employees to specify colours and other options on the vehicles they select and to then print or send their choice to family, friends or even their Fleet manager.

The Toyota retail customer web site uses BroadVision to provide information and advertisements targeted at individual’s buying needs based on their choice of vehicle. Content is published directly onto the site by Toyota’s sales and marketing team and then dynamically personalised according to defined rules. Toyota have recently added further personalisation features to the web site such as a dedicated owners’ portal that will allow users to save the configuration of a selected vehicle as well as setting alerts on key annual events such as insurance renewal and MOT.
