ToucanSurf — choice, transparency and value
The Internet made easy, putting the consumer in control

Toucan is pleased to announce the launch of ToucanSurf, which it believes to be the most comprehensive and easy-to-use portfolio of domestic Internet access options available in the UK. ToucanSurf options include two “Talk ‘n’ Surf” Voice & Broadband bundles, combining unlimited calls to UK landlines with unlimited surfing.

The entry level “Talk ‘n’ Surf” broadband bundle offers voice calls plus broadband at 512Kbps, 10 times the speed of standard dial-up, for just £29.99 a month. The second “Talk ‘n’ Surf” bundle features 1Mbps broadband — 20 times the speed of dial-up — for only £34.99 a month.

ToucanSurf is the latest addition to the Toucan range of consumer telecoms services, and includes four core broadband options, ranging from 150Kbps to 1Mbps to meet the needs of every home user, from light surfers to the serious Internet enthusiast. Two 56Kbps dial-up options are also available, together with a Voice/Unmetered Dial-up access bundle for only £19.99 a month.

All ToucanSurf products feature unlimited downloads, to save users the frustration of being disconnected in the middle of transferring large files. Also included are: free broadband modem, free connection, free 24 x 7 customer services and technical support for just 10p-per-minute, seven days a week from 8am until midnight. Customers combining ToucanSurf with the ToucanTalk voice service have the added advantage of seeing their charges conveniently listed on a single monthly bill.


The core ToucanSurf options and prices are:

Broadband
· ToucanSurf Lite @ £19.99 a month: 150Kbps, three times faster than dial-up for accelerating simple online activities like banking and shopping.
· ToucanSurf Express @ £21.99 a month: 256Kbps for even faster surfing, emailing large attachments and sending and receiving photos.
· ToucanSurf Power @ £24.99 a month: 512Kbps, enabling rapid download of music and software, playing online games, uploading photo libraries and more.

· ToucanSurf Ultra @ £29.99 a month: 1Mbps for the ultimate Internet experience, including video-streaming and real-time online gaming with players across the world.

All broadband options are charged on a fixed monthly fee with no call charges and provide unlimited downloads. Self-installation is straightforward and a free broadband modem is included in every package.

Dial-up
· Surf-All-You-Can @ £13.99 a month: unmetered 56Kbps access providing unlimited surf-time for a fixed monthly fee, for easy budget management.
o (Talk ‘n’ Surf bundle including ToucanTalk All-You-Can: £19.99 a month.)
· Pay-As-You-Surf: for ToucanTalk customers. 56Kbps access, no minimum charge or connection fee. Recommended for occasional users. Charges for time spent online appear on the user’s normal ToucanTalk phone bill.

All ToucanSurf accounts come with the following value-added features as standard:
· 5 unique POP3 email addresses, each with 10Mb mailbox, auto-forwarding and auto-responder
· webmail account
· online account management
· 25Mb free webspace

Toucan are also announcing a special offer for Voice customers not wishing to fix the monthly price of their voice calls with one of the Talk ‘n’ Surf bundles. These customers will receive £10 free calls when they combine any ToucanSurf package with either of the ToucanTalk variable price plans. This offer is increased to £20 if they sign up online. The exception is the “Pay-As-You-Surf” account, one of which is given free automatically to all ToucanTalk customers when they first sign up.

Note to Editors

Toucan applies no formal limits to the amount of data ToucanSurf customers download from the internet. However, we reserve the right to restrict over-use of the service by, for example, prioritising traffic from light users during peak periods.

ToucanSurf Dial-up is subject to a maximum of 2 hours’ usage in a single session. There is no limit to the number of times users may reconnect, subject to a maximum of 300 hours per month. We may disconnect users if we see 15 minutes’ inactivity on the account.
