Enerjy Software, a leading developer of software tools, today announced the release of Edition 6 of its Java suite of tools. With the release of Edition 6, all four of the tools in Enerjy's line up-- which includes Enerjy Code Analyzer, Enerjy Memory Profiler, Enerjy Performance Profiler and Enerjy Thread Profiler—bring powerful new features to Java development.
The new features in Edition 6 include:
ENERJY CODE ANALYZER
= Rule Priority - Each rule can be assigned a priority (High/Medium/Low) which will be reflected in the output when a rule fires. Priorities can be assigned individually or by category within the configuration dialog. Additionally, those who use Code Analyzer within their Ant build process can fail a build if a particular priority or a predefined number of rules has fired.
= File Filters – Optionally ignore certain files within a project. Files can be filtered by specific name or entire folder structures using a simple wildcard format.
ENERJY MEMORY PROFILER AND ENERJY PERFORMANCE PROFILER
= On-the-Fly Profiling – Change configuration settings on the fly, while the application is being profiled, without requiring a restart of the application.
ENERJY MEMORY PROFILER, ENERJY PERFORMANCE PROFILER, ENERJY THREAD PROFILER
= Status View – Each profiler presents a Status View when a profiling sessions begins, displaying current (real-time) total/used heap sizes and the running/blocking state of each thread, while the application is running. Status View allows developer to take snapshots, clear collected data, and pause/resume/terminate the application.
= Table Export – Each profiler exports all tables of data to files in both comma-separated and tab-delimited format and then view, print, or chart the data.
Enerjy is a suite of modular Java tools that helps developers analyse and profile Java applications. The tools are easy to install, intuitive and help developers improve the quality of their Java code while increasing productivity. Individual tools are priced at EURO 354 / GBP 211 each. All Enerjy products include one year of maintenance.
Quote from Mark Dixon, Chief Technology Officer, Enerjy Software:
“Edition 6 is a major release that focuses on getting the developer inside the code as quickly as possible," said Dixon. "At the end of the day, software tools need to help developers work faster. Edition 6 does just that. Rather than forcing the developer to work differently from the way he's used to doing, Edition 6 builds on the notion of keeping the developer working within the IDE, where the work really happens. A perfect example of this is with the new on-the-fly profiling feature, a first of its kind, changing the way people profile Java applications."
