Cognito today announces that CitySprint, the UK’s leading same day courier company, has chosen Cognito to supply a fully managed mobile workflow solution to over 900 mobile workers nationwide. The contract has been won in partnership with O2 whose strong relationship with Cognito is cited by CitySprint as a factor in its decision to award the contract.
The award follows an initial pilot and is one of the largest single contracts to be secured by Cognito in this sector. Mobile handheld units (Personal Digital Assistants) will be deployed among 900 of CitySprint’s couriers, including van drivers and motorcyclists.
The same day courier industry is highly competitive with customers requiring an integrated approach. Customers need their packages delivered on time. Cognito’s service will enable CitySprint to keep customers informed of the progress of any job they have ordered.
CitySprint’s existing system enables customers to book online and track and trace packages. This additional feature will also enable real time updates of progress.
