CMA welcomes, without reservation, the positive, dynamic, forward looking, set of proposals released today by Ofcom. Together, the proposals address every major issues raised by the business user community over the last 20 years.

Specifically, CMA are delighted that the provision of bundled services to business users is to be re-examined against the achievement of equality of access.

This is precisely the point CMA made in its response to the relevant consultation and that was reiterated in our response to the telecoms review.

It is now up to all within the industry to assist in the achievement of equality of access and thereby to avoid the application of Ofcoms option2; a referral to the competition commission.

To that end, CMA will be working closely with BT and others in the coming months.
